One important area of responsibility of the division is university teaching. Bedside teaching courses regularly take place at the ward, and the division is an integral component of the medical school curriculum.
Lectures and seminars in pulmonology always incorporate the latest research findings and are continually kept up-to-date. In addition, the division teaches specific content in diploma and dissertation seminars as well as in the curricula of PhD programs and doctoral schools. Diploma and doctoral students are supervised in close collaboration with the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute for Lung Vascular Research.
Our division regularly hosts journal clubs and professional development programs that deal with topics such as COPD, asthma, interstitial lung diseases, pulmonary circulation, infectious diseases and oncology. Dissertation seminars are also offered.
The wide range of professional development opportunities at the Medical University of Graz is directed at a variety of occupational groups in the fields of medicine, science and research, nursing and health services. Most of the professional development courses can be completed while the participant is regularly employed and provide him/her with a valuable additional qualification.
